One of many biggest treasures of amber jewellery, consisting of 433 amber items, together with amulets, necklaces, brooches, beads, was found when excavating deposits of amber in Juodkrante. Like in historic times, similarly these days, the cultural and aesthetic side of amber was closely associated with existence of the Lithuanian nation, which established loads of amber galleries and museums.
